Under the cooperation protocol signed between Kapadokya University and TOBB University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETÜ), an international workshop titled “Climate Heritage Adaptations – International Graduate Student Workshop” was held at our university on September 4–5, 2023.
This event served as the opening program for the “Climate Change Adaptations” International Graduate Student Workshop, organized by the TOBB ETÜ Department of Architecture within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA203 e-CREHA (Education for Climate Resilient European Heritage Architecture) Project, which took place between September 4–13, 2023. The workshop was conducted in an interdisciplinary academic environment with the participation of academics and graduate students from different countries.
The program addressed the effects of climate change on cultural heritage, the protection of heritage sites, adaptation strategies, and sustainable architecture approaches. Current academic approaches and practical examples aimed at making European cultural heritage resilient to the climate crisis were discussed, with the goal of raising students’ awareness in this area.
