The content of this website has been created as a result of the studies and research conducted within the scope of the project titled “Signage and Promotion of Mustafapaşa”, carried out by Cappadocia University.
The project is supported by the BAP Unit of Cappadocia University under the framework of “scientific research and community engagement projects” and has been carried out by the Cappadocia Studies Application and Research Center since the spring semester of the 2020–2021 academic year.
The aim of the project is to create a comprehensive resource containing information on the cultural and natural assets of Mustafapaşa. Within this scope, historically and architecturally significant civil and religious structures in the village were first identified, and an inventory consisting of the histories, short narratives, photographs, and measured drawings (rölöve) of these valuable buildings was prepared. In addition, brief information has been provided on the five valleys on which the settlement is established, as well as the surrounding valleys; natural formations have been described, and alongside newly taken photographs reflecting their current condition, historical photographs of the valleys have been shared where available.
The prepared studies aim to provide easy access to data for local and international tourists who have not had the opportunity to visit the region or who wish to make preliminary preparations before their visit, as well as for academics conducting research on the region.
Within the scope of the project, informational signage panels will be prepared for all included structures, featuring historically appropriate Turkish and English texts and accompanying visuals based on the research findings. This work, which constitutes one of the project’s outputs, is planned to be carried out following the completion of the research process.
In addition to the information shared on the website, it is aimed to promote the village on a global scale through the installation of these signage panels, thereby contributing to its recognition as an attractive destination. Through the QR codes to be added to the panels, access to the existing website will be provided, enabling users to reach more comprehensive information.
